Karissa is a 2012 graduate from the Veterinary Technician Institute of Pittsburgh. As a member of our senior staff she has been instrumental in training new hires and implementing new safety protocols involving our restraint and handling procedures. Fear Free comes very naturally for her and even the most timid pets seem to warm up to her very quickly. Karissa has completed Companion Therapy Laser training, Low Stress Handing and Restraint, Fear Free Level 3 training, and Companion Animal Dentistry training through the Animal Dental Training Program out of Baltimore Maryland. She splits her time between working at the hospital and being a full-time mommy of 2 of boys.

Jessica has been with the practice since the early days back in 2010. She has now taken on the role as Inventory Manager along with her vet tech responsibilities. Jess has been involved in animal care her entire life. Growing up she was extremely involved in her local 4-H and showed cattle at various farm shows and fairs. She maintains her own farm and horse boarding business. She also competes in horse jumping competitions as her schedule allows.

Brooke is a YTI graduate with large and small animal, shelter, and surgical assistance experience. She is one of our weekend warriors. Brooke has completed Companion Therapy Laser training, Low Stress Handling and Restraint, and Level 1 of Fear Free training.
Bekah is a current student at Wilson College pursuing a bachelor's degree as a Veterinary Technologist with a minor in Small Business Management, and will graduate May of 2020. At Wilson she is apart of the VMT Club, and a mentor for incoming freshman who plan to pursue a Veterinary degree. She has been a technician with us at Compassion’s for two years now. She has also completed Companion Therapy Laser training, and Fear Free Levels one and two.
Kayla is an experienced veterinary technician with additional training in Fear Free restraint and handling, Companion Therapy Laser, and our Laser Safety Officer. Kayla wins the staff award for most diverse pet collection which includes dogs, cats, salt water fish, fresh water aggressive fish, amphibians, and pocket pets!
Denielle is a 2012 graduate from Alfred State College as a Certified Veterinary Technician. She is certified in Companion Laser Therapy and Fear Free Levels 1 &2. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, as well as her 2 chocolate labs.
Natasha is a Certified Veterinary Technician, who graduated from Sanford Brown College in Pittsburgh. She has been involved in 4-H for most of her life-either showing her goats, or helping to mentor the younger generation of 4-H kids. She has years of experience with large animal veterinary care and can usually be found side by side with Dr. Anne on a large animal farm call. She has completed Fear Free Level 3, Companion Therapy Laser training, and various other continued education modules to stay on top of her skill set. She is one of our surgical technicians and is always willing to go the extra mile to help a client or patient.
Taryn is a huge animal lover and for many years has been active in horse shows every weekend. Now an irreplaceable member of our team, she's up for any challenge. Dogs, cats, goats, chickens, ferrets, you name it she's up for the task!

At the moment Rachel is completing her internship and final step prior to graduating from the YTI Vet Tech program! It's been wonderful watching her start out as a part time employee and work her way to full time status and soon a degree and certification to match!
Angel has over 10 years of experience in animal care and customer service, working in both shelter and kennel environments. She enjoys spending her free time with her family, reading, going to concerts, and watching tv. She owns an Australian Shepherd named Bowzer and loves to spoil him to death.
Candi has over 11 years of animal care experience and customer service, working in both kennel and shelter environments. She specializes in pocket pets, guinea pigs being her favorite critter! She owns two dogs and a small herd of guinea pigs. When she's not working at Compassion you can find her lost in a good book or cruising on the back of her husband's motorcycle.
Kayli is known around the office for her contagious positive attitude and although fairly new to the veterinary field she shows a lot of promise as a Penn Foster Vet Tech student.
